AFRO + LEGS + MELANIN
I’m serving you all types of fro, legs and melanin in what could be a Paris cafe if you squint, except the fact that I’m in Georgetown, DC. A flowy dress with a good split instantly makes me feel like a woman. It’s just a no fuss, instant outfit.
For the summertime I love a good long dress that catches the wind and cinches at my waist. When in doubt, I’ll grab a belt and snatch my waist myself like I did here with an oldie but goodie belt from high school. I’m telling you, your girl had style beyond her years and invested her allowance in some good buys! A swollen wand curl turned unruly afro from the humid summer heat, round shades and platform heels - I’m ready for whatever. Brunch. Shopping. Festival. BBQ. I'm down.
#BTS Behind the Scenes.
My photographer Jendayi and I were scouting out the perfect location for my next outfit. I had it set in my mind that I wanted to find this macaroon store in Georgetown but my non-directional ass had us walk 2 blocks the wrong way in 98 degree heat. We weren’t having it so in desperation Jendayi said, “how about there?” Across the street from where we were google mapping the spot I wanted to be, was the Bonaparte restaurant. I changed clothes in an alley because I forgot my pop up tent and took these gorgeous shots. One of my favorite cluster of photos from that day.
