July 4th GREEN + FATIGUES
Although it’s the 4th of July, I’m not feeling that patriotic especially with the social climate here in the US. But in honor of the soldiers that have kept and continue to keep our shores safe, I wear green and camo.
I am an ARMY brat. My Dad, Grandmother, Grandfather, Uncles and boyfriend are all ARMY vets. My Grandfather in particular toured Vietnam TWICE and is a Purple Heart recipient. I am no stranger to the commissary if you know what I mean. In my younger years I polished my Dad’s boots for extra allowance and shopped for school clothes with my grandmother every summer at the Fort Knox PX. Although this outfit is not tax free, its cute!
Wrapping the camo jacket around my waist assists the illusion that I actually have a small waist and hips. The tapestry mules, to me, set this thing all the way off. They're just fun and I get compliments on them all the time. My Gucci apothecary bag, a vintage favorite, adds that pop of color with the red stripe. Just call me Private OJ because this is what I’d be wearing to war.
